The drinks can actually enhance breast size

A series of soft drinks, named “Okkikunare” have sold well amongst Japanese teenagers on the basis that they can enhancer breast size.

“Okkikunare”means “make them bigger!” The drink, manufactured by the Blue Coin Company, comes in three flavors: apple, peach and mango, and costs about 200Yen (equivalent to about $2US).

These drinks are popular with teenage girls who are vulnerable to the implied marketing message that the drinks can help increase breast size. The drinks include an ingredient called powdered arrowroot, which has an isoflavone content similar to soybeans. While some studies show that isoflavones can stimulate the female hormone system, there has been no evidence that these drinks can actually enhance breast size.

In his book, entitled "The Jewish 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Jews of all Time," Michael Shapiro presented descriptions of world's famous Jewish people, their works and how they influenced the world.

It is worth mentioning that the author of the book, besides being a writer is a composer, pianist and lecturer, whose works were published in The New Yorker, Esquire, Sports Illustrated, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times Magazine.

Michael Shapiro started his book by saying that each of the 100 Jews presented in the book had an impact on mankind. All of them contributed to the way people live and contemplate today.

"Even the few who touched only the souls and minds of Jews are important to us because of their defining presence on Jewish identity," he wrote.

Seven Jews from the list of 100 were include not only as the most influential Jews but also as the most influential people of all time in the book written by Michael Hart and entitled "100 Most Influential People in History." These seven people are:

A cocktail is a style of mixed drink. However, not all mixed drinks are cocktails. A cocktail usually contains one or more types of liquor and flavorings and one or more liqueurs, fruit juices, sauces, honey, milk, cream or spices, etc. The cocktail became popular with Prohibition in the United States. During Prohibition the art of mixing drinks became more and more important to mask the taste of bootlegged alcohol. The bartenders at a speakeasy would mix it with other ingredients, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. After the repeal of Prohibition, the skills developed in illegal bars became widespread and heralded the golden era of the cocktail, the 1930s. One of the oldest known cocktails, the Cognac-based Sazerac, dates from 1850s New Orleans, as many as 70 years prior to Prohibition. Until the 1970s, cocktails were made predominantly with gin, whiskey or rum, and less commonly vodka. From the 1970s on, the popularity of vodka increased dramatically, and by the 1980s it was the predominant base for mixed drinks. Many cocktails traditionally made with gin, such as the gimlet, or the martini, may now be served by default with vodka.

The earliest known printed use of the word "cocktail," as originally determined by David Wondrich in October 2005, was from "The Farmer's Cabinet", April 28, 1803, p [2]: "11. Drank a glass of cocktail — excellent for the head ... Call'd at the Doct's. found Burnham — he looked very wise — drank another glass of cocktail."

Uncontacted Tribe Identified in Brazil

A tribe of South America's aborigines, who remain isolated from the rest of the world, has been identified and photographed in a place found between the boarders of

Brazil

and

Peru

. According to the Brazilian government, it took the pictures of the tribe with the goal of proving its existence and assuring a protection of their land.

The photographs were taken from an airplane. They show some of the members of the tribe waving their bows and arrows. All of the members are red-painted. It is interesting to note that according to Survival International over a half of today's known 100 isolated tribes live in Brazil or Peru.

The director of the scientific group, Stephen Corry, warns that in case the lands of the uncontacted tribes are not protected, these tribes may very soon become extinct. It is worth mentioning that the group, headed by Mr. Corry deals with supporting tribal people worldwide.

Russian Spacewalkers Handle Explosives on Soyuz Capsule

On Thursday, July 11, 2008, two astronauts were able to remove and explosive bolt from their capsule. Sergei Volkov and Oleg Kononenko, two Russian spacewalkers, were able to accurately disconnect the bolt attached to the Soyuz capsule, which is going to bring the astronauts home this fall. Afterwards they instantly slid inside the blast-proof container.

Glacial melting creates tsunami, empties lake

A glacial lake suddenly emptied in Southern Chile because of the high world temperatures. According to Gino Casassa, a glacier scientist, it was caused by the melting of the Colonia glacier that filled the lake and increased pressure on the ice.

Raising world temperatures are blamed for melting ice in southern Chile that caused a glacial lake to swell and then empty suddenly, sending a tsunami-like wave rolling through a river, a scientist said Thursday. No one in the remote region was injured.

Glacier scientist Gino Casassa said the melting of the Colonia glacier, which he said were the result of rising world temperatures, filled the Cachet Lake and increased pressure on the ice sheet.

The water bored a 5-mile tunnel through the glacier and finally emptied into the Baker River on April 6.

The discovery of the legged snake

A great and precious discovery was made by a team at the European Light Source (ESRF) Grenoble, France – a snake with two legs. Using X-rays they showed that the snake embedded in Lebanese limestone, discovered in 2000 and having only one leg visible, had another one hidden under the limestone slab. The creature of about 92 million year old is known as Eupodophis descouensi and is 85 cm long.

The remains of the snake are divided across the two internal faces of a thin limestone lump that was broken apart.

The smallest extrasolar planet was discovered

False-color infrared image of the brown dwarf 2M1207 (blue) and its planetary companion 2M1207b (red), as viewed by the Very Large Telescope. As of September 2006 this is the only confirmed extrasolar planet to have been directly imaged.

The smallest planet outside the Solar System was discovered by Spanish astronomers, led by Ribas and named “GJ 436T”. It is located 30 light years^[1] from Earth and was detected using a new technique. According to Ignasi Ribas of Spain’s CSIC scientific research institute, this technique “will allow us to discover in less than 10 years the first planet resembling Earth in terms of mass and orbit”.
