 The sun lovers will enjoy a great vacation on the Mediterranean beaches located in the south of the country as well as in the northwest. Spain includes a great number of landscapes, including forests, salt marshes, rocky bays, mountains, as well as cities from the medieval era, rivers and mountain ranges.  
It also includes various castles, palaces and other marks of the early richness of Spain.

The capital of the country, Madrid, is located in its central part. From here radiate the network of railways and routes. When paying a visit to Madrid it is very important to know that the city has a lot of art galleries, museums as well as precious public squares and a great Royal palace.

The Autonomous Community of Madrid suggests landscapes such as the Guadarrama Mountains, where visitors can enjoy the architerture and historical aspects of the monastery El Escorial, which is one of Spain's most impressive monuments. Tourists may also consider checking the country's historical cities such as Aranjuez and Chinchón, located in the southern area.

Then the Arab town and today Magerit, was conquered by Alfonso VI of Castile. The event took place in the period between 1083 and 1086.

Madrid is a historical city with lots of historical places like the Plaza Mayor (Main Square). This place did not only serve as a place of celebrations but also was the witness of savage judgments and executions performed by the Inquisition. This square with porches is the main feature of the old part of Madrid and it is also an interesting case of the architectonic during the times of the House of Hapsburg. Among other amazing buildings one may discover the "Colegiata of San Isidro" and the palace of Santa Cruz.

The nightlife of the regions can please every visitor, who may discover night bars, restaurants, clubs, cinemas and theaters. Music lovers might enjoy the city's musical activity that ranges from classical style and zarzuela to rock and jazz.

Barcelona

This city is one of the most popular ports of the Mediterranean. Its area is a bit more that the capital of Spain. Barcelona represents a place of great cultural, commercial and recreational life. All of these suffered a great change due to the Olympic Games that took part back in 1992. The transformations that took place make the city more suggestive for any visitor.

Besides the historical monuments of Ciutat Vella (the city's oldest part), Barcelona is known worldwide for its buildings, which represent an artistic boom of the modernism in the 1st decade of the twentieth century. The city is permanently opened to overseas influences as a port city neighboring with France.
