More Than 500 New Luxury Hotels to Be Opened Around the World
There is no doubt that when erecting a new hotel one of the most important selling points is luxury. Thus, in the next several months over 500 new luxury hotels will be opened around the globe. The information presented by the website TopHotelProject.com states that 28 percent of all the hotel openings take place in Europe, which is second, North America comes third with 27 percent and East Asia leads the list with 41 percent. The majority of the 32 largest luxury hotels will open in Asia, featuring more than 500 rooms. The most impressive project will be accomplished in Las Vegas Sands. The project will be called Marina Bay Sands Hotel Singapore and will include 2,600 rooms.

- Planet Hollywood Towers in Los Angeles, United States (with 1,228 rooms);
- Shangri-La Hotel in Macao, People's Republic of China (with 636 rooms);

- W Hotel Fort Lauderdale in Florida, United States (with 482 rooms);
- Palazzo Versace in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (with 215 hotel rooms);
- Andel's Hotel in Berlin, Germany (with 557 rooms).
Over 170 construction projects of the future luxury hotels were presented by TopHotelProjects.com in November and December. All of the disclosed hotels will feature more than 36,000 rooms. Here is a sample of the future luxury hotel projects:
- Scandic Hotel in Hamburg, Germany (with 325 rooms), the hotel's opening is expected to take place in 2011;
- InterContinental Resort & Spa in Marrakech, Morocco (with 180 rooms), the hotel's opening is expected to take place in 2011;
- Clarion Hotel Arlanda near Stockholm, Sweden (with 400 rooms), the hotel's opening is expected to take place in 2010;
- Fairmont Resort & Spa on Corfu Island, Greece (with 240 rooms), the hotel's opening is expected to take place in 2012;
- St. Regis on Saadiyat Island near Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (with 280 rooms), the hotel's opening is expected to take place in 2010.
It is worth noting that with the impressive goals like that it might be that the hotel investments did not suffer a lot from the financial crisis, at least for now.
"After the first climax of the financial crunch, of course we watch the hotel projects market even more closely.
